Occupational Hygiene focuses on anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling health hazards that may exist, arise, or occur in your workplace. These hazards may include:

  • Chemical – exposure to chemicals causing injury, such as chemical burns, accidental poisoning, or respiratory disorders caused by fume inhalation. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) are a critical component to anticipating and mitigating chemical hazards in the workplace.
  • Biological – exposure to disease-causing organic agents, such as exposure to deadly viruses or mold and bacteria leading to respiratory problems.
  • Physical – the risk of physical injury, such as hearing loss, eye injury, or possibility of falling. This area also includes repetitive stress disorders that can often be corrected by ergonomic analysis of your workflow.

ACM’s qualified professionals bring years of experience and training to the table. Our skilled consultants are experts in identifying, mitigating, and preventing health risks. In addition to WHMIS, operations and ergonomics, we are experienced in commissioning and decommissioning laboratories and other high risk facilities, including chemical, radiological, and biological hazards.
